Privacy and player data

Updated October 22, 2026

Yes, voice notes about players stay private: your dictation is transcribed on your iPhone and the audio never leaves the device, only the text is saved. Your account data is isolated per coach, so no other coach can see it. This page explains exactly what is stored, what stays on your phone, who can see it, and the rules on recording minors. It is a plain-language summary; the full Privacy Policy governs.

What stays on your iPhone

Two of the most sensitive inputs never leave your device:

So the two things a coach is most wary of handing over, a recording of their voice and a photo of a roster, are exactly the two things TalentEcho keeps on the phone.

What is stored in your account

What is saved is the structured, text-based record you build:

TalentEcho does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

What is shared for AI features, and what is not

Some text you provide is sent to an AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude service), to return a feature's result: text extracted on your device from a team-sheet photo, dictation transcripts for cleanup and tagging, club or team names for league suggestions, and the messages you send the in-app assistant. The app asks for your explicit permission before any data is sent.

Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this text is used only to provide the feature and is not used to train its models. TalentEcho does not send your team-sheet photos or dictation audio to Anthropic or any AI provider. Those are processed on your device, and only the resulting text is shared.

Who can see your notes and ratings

Your data is stored with Supabase and is isolated per coach using database row-level security, so one coach cannot access another coach's data, and it is encrypted in transit. If you are on the Team plan, you choose to share with your own coaching staff; see how to share player notes with staff. TalentEcho does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising. Deleted items are recoverable for a limited period and then purged.

Recording players who are minors

TalentEcho is built for adult coaches and recruiting staff aged 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and children may not create an account. Because recruiting means recording information about prospective players, some of whom may be minors, a few things matter:

If you coach with a staff and want notes to stay inside your program, the staff sharing guide covers how that works on the Team plan.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or delete your information, and delete your account, from within the app or by emailing support. Colorado and California residents, among others, may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their data. TalentEcho is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored there. The full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are the governing documents.

See it for yourself

TalentEcho is on the App Store, with a 1-month free trial. Dictation stays on your iPhone from the first note.

Common questions

Are voice notes about youth players private?

Your dictation audio is transcribed on your iPhone and never leaves the device; only the resulting text is saved to your account. Your account data is isolated per coach, so another coach cannot see it. The coach is responsible for having a legitimate recruiting reason to record information about a prospective player and for following laws that protect minors.

Does my dictation audio get uploaded?

No. Audio is recorded and transcribed on your device, and the audio never leaves it. Only the resulting text and notes are saved to your account.

What happens to a team-sheet photo I scan?

The photo is read on your device. Only the extracted text is sent to the AI provider to structure it into a roster. The photo itself is never uploaded or stored by TalentEcho.

Who can see my notes and ratings?

Your data is stored with row-level security that isolates it per coach, so one coach cannot access another coach's data. On the Team plan, you choose to share with your own coaching staff. TalentEcho does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Can I record information about players who are minors?

TalentEcho is for adult coaches aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. Coaches may record information about prospective players, some of whom may be minors, and are responsible for a legitimate recruiting purpose and compliance with laws protecting minors. TalentEcho does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Is player data used to train AI models?

No. Text shared with the AI provider, Anthropic, is processed only to provide the feature and, under its commercial API terms, is not used to train its models. Photos and dictation audio are never sent to the AI provider.

How do I delete a player's information?

You can delete a player's information in the app, and you can delete your account. A parent or guardian who believes their child's information has been recorded can email support to request removal.
